Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka gave Gunners fans something to cheer on Wednesday as he finally ended speculation over his future by signing a new four-year contract.

The club have released a series of new pictures to mark the occasion, showing the versatile academy product on the pitch at an empty Emirates, where Arsenal play their first home game since the coronavirus lockdown against Norwich tonight.

The teenager wrote on Twitter: “London is my home. Arsenal my team.”

Saka was also pictured signing his new deal alongside manager Mikel Arteta, who said he was “delighted” to have tied down one of the most promising young players to have come through Hale End in recent years.

“Bukayo is a talented and intelligent young player,” Arteta said. “He has impressed me with his work ethic and attitude to learn and adapt, and it has paid off in his performances.

“I am excited to continue working with him to develop him further, and for him to help us achieve our goals.

“This is something everyone involved wanted to happen and we are delighted that Bukayo has signed a new long-term contract.”
