England U21 manager Aidy Boothroyd has named his squad for the upcoming Euro Under-21 Championships in Poland.

Arsenal defensive duo Calum Chambers and Rob Holding are part of a squad with a trio of Chelsea players: Tammy Abraham, Nathaniel Chalobah and Lewis Baker, who spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem. Their fellow Blue Ruben Loftus-Cheek misses out through injury.

Further London representation comes in the form of Fulham striker Cauley Woodrow.

Boothroyd’s party also includes Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish, who was dropped from the squad in April after reporting late to a scheduled meeting ahead of a friendly against Denmark.

“We have some good players and like for any international team, bringing them all together and getting them all to work as a single unit, that is always the challenging part,” Boothroyd said.

“But we’ve got players with big game experience now, lads who have played in cup finals, play-off finals, big games and a couple of senior internationals.”

Southampton duo James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond drop down to the U21s after making their debuts in a friendly against Germany in March whilst Jordan Pickford, named in the squad for the Novembers internationals, is also included.

England begin their tournament on June 16, when they take on Sweden at the Kolporter Arena in Kielce.
