Gabriel Jesus has insisted there is no bad blood between himself and Ederson, after the Brazil teammates linked up for international duty in the aftermath of Arsenal’s win over Manchester City.

The Gunners came out on top in last weekend’s nervy Premier League title clash, courtesy of a late Gabriel Martinelli winner.

Tempers flared a couple of times towards the end of the game, most notably at full-time when Erling Haaland and Kyle Walker clashed with Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover.

But Jesus and Ederson also had a moment of their own in stoppage time, when the striker fended off City defenders by their corner flag before conceding a foul.

After the whistle, Jesus continued to dribble the ball before knocking it a few yards away as Ederson appeared on the scene - the goalkeeper clattering his fellow countryman to the ground. Both players were booked, the Arsenal man for timewasting and City’s goalkeeper for the shove.

Journalists in Brazil have since asked Jesus if the incident would affect them playing together in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Uruguay.

He told a press conference: “I have a good relationship, not just with Ederson. But on the pitch it's normal.

“Ederson and I spent a lot of time together at City and we were very happy. He knows how fond I am of him and I also know how fond he is of me.

“But on the pitch he defends his team and I defend mine. It was a moment when we were winning and it's not easy to beat them.

“We were winning and I held the ball there. Anyway, he ended up giving me a push, but afterwards everything was normal. We came together talking. That's it.”
