Arsenal face the prospect of being without Kieran Tierney for both legs of their Europa League quarter-final with Slavia Prague after he suffered a knee injury against Liverpool.
Tierney limped off during Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday and he is currently being assessed by the club’s medical staff.
Arsenal’s initial fears are that the left-back faces being on the sidelines for a few weeks, which would rule out of their Europa League quarter-final with Slavia Prague.
The Gunners are hosting Slavia Prague on Thursday at Emirates Stadium in the first leg, before travelling to the Czech Republic next week to conclude the tie.
They now look set to do so without Tierney, in what is a big blow to manager Mikel Arteta.
Tierney is the only out-and-out left-back in Arsenal’s squad, with right-back Cedric Soares the most likely to fill in there if the Scot is out injured.
Bukayo Saka is also capable of playing there, but the teenager has excelled playing on the right wing since the turn of the year.
Saka missed Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool, as did Emile Smith Rowe and Granit Xhaka, with the trio being assessed ahead of Thursday’s match with Slavia Prague.
