David Seaman has surprised Arsenal fans by revealing he would support Tottenham in the Champions League final.

Tottenham beat Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund 4-0 over two last-16 legs to reach a first quarter-final in eight years.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are travelling to face Rennes in the Europa League knockout stages after again failing to qualify for Europe's top table.

Tottenham are considered rank outsiders to lift the famous trophy, and feat Arsenal have never achieved, but Seaman - who spent 13 years as a Gunner - who be cheering them on should they reach the final.

When asked on talkSPORT if he would like to see Tottenham win the Champions League, Seaman replied: "That'd be ace, wouldn’t it?"

"No, seriously, I swear, I would want them to win. If they were in a final against a foreign team I would want Tottenham to beat them, no doubt about that.

"Say Tottenham were playing Bayern Munich, Barcelona, whoever – I would want the English team to win."

He added: "There's no question about it. I played 75 times for my country, I’d want the English team to win. That’s just the way I am."
