Arsenal made it back-to-back wins by beating Brighton 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from Alexandre Lacazette.

Here’s how Simon Collings rated Mikel Arteta’s side at the Amex…

Bernd Leno 7

A good, solid game from the German. Only called into action a few times, but dealt with everything with minimal fuss.

Hector Bellerin 7

Had been out of sorts during Arsenal’s winless run, but is starting to rediscover some form again. Looked solid and got forward on occasions.

Rob Holding 7

In the absence of Gabriel, has stepped up and become a leader at the back. Shaky at times but helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet.

Pablo Mari 7

Taking his chance in the absence of Gabriel. His height at the back is proving an asset, as is the fact he’s left footed.

Kieran Tierney 7

Another good performance from the left-back, who is near enough the first name on the team sheet these days.

Granit Xhaka 6

Did not recreate the performance from Boxing Day win over Chelsea and was ponderous in the first-half. Better after the break.

Mohamed Elneny 5

Struggled in the first-half, where he was caught in possession on occasion. Gave his all once again, though, and was better after the break.

Bukayo Saka 8 | Star man

The teenager just continues to deliver every week. Produced some fine skill and pace for the assist tonight and was Arsenal’s best player.

Emile Smith Rowe 6

Was starved of space in the first-half,  but got into the game after the break. Tracked back well and even did a shift out right too towards the end.

Gabriel Martinelli 6

Full of running, as always, but no end product of any real note. Went close with an effort in the second-half.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 5

Was a spectator in the first-half as he was starved of any service. Better in the second-half and was denied a goal by a fine save from Roberto Sanchez.

Substitutes

Alexandre Lacazette (Martinelli 65’) 7

Made an instant impact by coming off the bench to score. Starting to look like his old self again.

Dani Ceballos (Saka 80’) 6

Came on to help see out the win.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Smith Rowe 82’) N/A

Unused: Runarsson, Mustafi, Cedric, Willock, Pepe, Nketiah.
