Arsenal suffer Fabianski blow

Arsenal's goalkeeping crisis worsened today when Lukasz Fabianski was ruled out for three months with an ankle injury.

Fabianski has ruptured ligaments, meaning third-choice Vito Mannone remains Arsene Wenger’s only option for Saturday’s trip to Norwich.

Gunners No1 Wojciech Szczesny has an ankle injury and is three weeks away from returning, so inexperienced pair Damian Martinez, 20, and James Shea, 21, will continue as back-up.

Fabianski (above) was close to recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in September before his new setback.

There was some positive news for Wenger yesterday, with long-term absentees Jack Wilshere and Bacary Sagna playing 90 minutes in a friendly against Chelsea. Emmanuel Frimpong, out for eight months with a knee injury, also featured.
