Arsenal fans can celebrate having the two fastest players in the world – according to competing video games FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer.

After surprisingly missing out on FIFA’s top 20 fastest players on the game right-back Hector Bellerin has been named the fastest player on the other major football game, earning a speed rating of 97 out of 100.

The Spanish full-back overhauled Walcott’s long-standing record at Arsenal for the forty meter sprint, defending his record for the second year during pre-season.

On his blistering pace Bellerin told Standard Sport: “A lot of people last year were saying, ‘I can’t believe Hector is quicker than Theo’ but this year I beat him again and I think he finally accepted it!”

PES 2016, which is released in the UK on Friday, puts Bellerin ahead of Bayern Munich speedster Arjen Robben and Arsenal team-mate Theo Walcott, both of whom earn a rating of 96. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gervinho and Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor are also in the top 10.

The fastest players in FIFA and Pro Evo - surely that must be worth a trophy?
