Arsenal target Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not intending to sign a new contract at Borussia Dortmund and is considering leaving the German giants, according to his agent.

Mkhitaryan is among the long list of attackers Arsenal have monitored over recent months and could represent an ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez in the event that the Chilean chose not to extend his contract at the Emirates.

Regardless Mkhitaryan, who scored 11 and assisted 15 for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga last season, would be of interest to a host of top clubs should he choose to quit Dortmund.

That prospect now seems increasingly likely after Mkhitaryan's representative Mino Raiola announced the 27-year-old was in no rush to sign a new deal.

"Why would we sign a contract renewal now?" Raiola told Bild.

"Micki has a contract until June 2017 and we are looking at his options for the future."

The Armenian international’s current deal at Signal Iduna Park expires in 2017. Mkhitaryan joined Dortmund three years ago, signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in a €30million deal.
