Not selected: Petr Cech will have to wait for his debut
James Benge15 July 2015

Petr Cech will not make his debut for Arsenal just yet, with the £11 million signing not being selected for the opening game of Arsenal's pre-season.

Arsene Wenger's side will face a Singapore Select XI in this afternoon's Asia Trophy and the manager has named a strong side, including first team regulars Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Emiliano Martinez is given a chance to impress Wenger in goal and he will be supported by an experienced backline, with January signing Gabriel joining Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy.

A collection of Wenger's most highly rated prospects are in the squad, with Chuba Akpom chosen to lead the line and Dan Crowley and Gedion Zelalem hoping to get game time from the bench.

Victory in today's match will take them through to a final against either Everton or Stoke.

Arsenal: Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal, Flamini, Akpom, Coquelin, Iwobi.

Subs: Szczesny, Bellerin, Zelalem, Crowly, Toral, Willock.
