Arsenal vs Tottenham: Why Spurs should feel confident ahead of the north London derby

Vaishali Bhardwaj6 November 2015

Tottenham may well feel a trip to face their fierce north London rivals Arsenal this weekend comes at a good time, with the Gunners having suffered a humiliating defeat in the Champions League in midweek.

Arsene Wenger's side were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which left their chances of progressing to the last 16 of Europe's elite competition in the balance.

Despite having failed to have beaten Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the last five seasons, Spurs will probably see Sunday's derby game as their best opportunity of ending that disappointing run as the Gunners are currently dealing with an injury crisis at the club.

To add, Tottenham remain unbeaten in the league since their opening day loss to Manchester United and, with Harry Kane returning to goalscoring ways in recent weeks, Spurs will feel victory at Arsenal on Sunday is a realistic target - even if they have already been beaten by their rivals once this season.
