Big deal: £23m Gonzalo Higuain is Arsenal bound

Arsenal are expected to complete a club record £23million deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid in the next few days.

Talks are at an advanced stage with the two parties now thought to be negotiating the payment structure and the composition of any add-ons to the initial fee and it is understood Higuain (above) is ready to sign a contract worth £100,000 a week.

The club began their pre-season training at London Colney today with midfielder Jack Wilshere involved as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery.
