Boost for Tottenham as Juventus lose Paulo Dybala to injury ahead of Champions League tie

Juventus are likely to be without star striker Paulo Dybala for the visit of Tottenham in the Champions League next month.

Dybala broke down in tears as he was forced off against Cagliari on Saturday with a thigh injury, being embraced by head coach Massimiliano Allegri has he head down the tunnel.

A scan on Dybala's thigh revealed a "mild to medium strain to his right thigh", according to a statement from the club, with is expected to rule the Argentine out for around five weeks.

"Paulo Dybala underwent an MRI this morning which showed a mild to medium strain to his right thigh flexor," the Serie A champions said.

"He will immediately start rehabilitation with the prognosis for return better evaluated in the coming days."

Tottenham travel to Turin on February 13, meaning Dybala will be in a race to be match fit for the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash.

The return leg is at Wembley on March 7.
