Brentford have it all to do in their Championship play-off semi-final after Middlesbrough scored an injury-time winner in the first leg at Griffin Park.

Jelle Vossen gave Middlesbrough a first-half lead before Andre Gray equalised for Brentford in the second half.

The tie was heading for a draw before Fernando Amorebieta scored a dramatic late winner to give Middlesbrough the advantage ahead of next week’s return leg.

Middlesbrough went ahead on 25 minutes when Vossen took advantage of some loose marking to head past David Button.

Brentford equalised after 54 minutes when Gray capitalised on an error from Boro goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos to roll the ball into the net from an angle.

But Amorebieta gave Middlesbrough victory in the third minute of stoppage time when his deflected effort found the net.
