Brentford moved up into fifth place in League One after edging out Crawley Town 2-1, with both teams finishing the match with 10 men.
Crawley defender Mark Connolly was sent off in the opening minute after a foul in the box on Bees striker Clayton Donaldson, who missed the subsequent penalty but would make amends just after the half hour to put his side two ahead after Sam Saunders had broken the deadlock in the 16th minute.
The sides were evened up when Adam Forshaw was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the 59th minute and although Nicky Adams halved the deficit soon after, Brentford held on.
Leyton Orient held promotion contenders Sheffield United to a goalless draw.
