Chelsea are set to be boosted by the return of Alvaro Morata for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with AS Roma.

As Standard Sport revealed, the Spain international was always confident he would make a swift return from the hamstring injury sustained against Manchester City at the end of last month despite reports that he faced eight weeks on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old took a full part in a scheduled training session on Sunday and Cahill said: "He is back out on the pitch and hopefully he keeps progressing OK."

Morata is Chelsea’s their top scorer this season, having scored seven goals since arriving from Real Madrid in the summer.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has called on his side to bounce back from Saturday’s surprise defeat at Crystal Palace.

“We just have to keep on working,” he told Standard Sport. “We have an important game on Wednesday against Roma and some important ones after too.

“We wanted to win against Palace to stay in touch with the top teams in the table. We have to make sure that we start our next games better than we did at Palace.”
