Birmingham are set to sign Chelsea left-back Ben Gordon on a six-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old, who is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Stamford Bridge club, has had loan spells with Tranmere, Kilmarnock, Scunthorpe and Peterborough.
City boss Lee Clark has already brought striker Peter Lovenkrands, goalkeeper David Lucas and defender Hayden Mullins to St Andrew's this summer.
