Chelsea winger Pedro has admitted the champions have been poor this season and labelled the club's loss to Leicester City - which cost Jose Mourinho his job - as "s***".

The Blues travelled to take on Claudio Ranieri's league leaders last Monday, but went on to lose the clash 2-1 which resulted in Chelsea's board deciding to relieve Mourinho of his duties three days later with Chelsea sitting just above the relegation zone.

The champions showed an immediate response to the Portuguese's departure by beating Sunderland 3-1 at the weekend, although fans vented their anger over Mourinho's exit by booing the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa and chanting "Where were you when we were s***".

Pedro admits he understands why the Chelsea supporters have been so frustrated, but the winger revealed his belief the club can now begin to recover their season by moving on from the past few months.

Speaking about the loss to Leicester which cost Mourinho his job, the Spaniard told The Sun: "That game was horrible for us. Leicester played well.

"For us it was a very s*** game.

"I understand the supporters. It is normal, it is a very difficult situation. This victory is very satisfying.

"It was calming and was important to get the three points.

"The support is good, they are always with us, together.

"The situation is not good for us but I think we can start moving up the table."
