As transfer turbulence hits Stamford Bridge Antonio Conte has been "recharging" his batteries ahead of what is certain to be another gruelling season for the Chelsea boss.

Conte has been spending time in Sardinia ahead of the champions' return to pre-season training on Monday, travelling to the Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi.

The resort on the island's south coast is surrounded by a conservation area and is described as a "little piece of paradise" on its website. Certainly Conte was impressed.

"Being able to spend a couple of days of vacation with my staff and our families was a very nice experience," he said. "In Sardinia and in this amazing family resort, we have recharged the mental and physical energies essential for the upcoming season.

"I would like to thank Mr. Erich Falkensteiner, the Director Andrea Prevosti and all the Staff of Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi for their hospitality."

Whether Conte will be feeling quite as relaxed on his return to the UK remains to be seen after Chelsea were handed a major transfer blow when Manchester United agreed a £75m fee for their leading striker target Romelu Lukaku.
