Chelsea have announced the signing of Deivid Washington on a seven-year deal from Santos.
The 18-year-old forward arrives from Santos as the latest young star snapped up by the Blues this summer, and the second from Santos after Angelo Gabriel’s £13million arrival.
Washington has cost an initial £12.9m with a further £4.3m agreed in add-ons, with the player set to join Gabriel in being loaned out to Strasbourg.
Washington has scored two goals in 156 appearances for Santos in his breakout season, and had attracted interest from Monaco as Chelsea pushed for a deal.
The Blues have landed a number of highly-rated talents in the transfer window including Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ugochukwu and Moises Caicedo.
