Chelsea transfer news: Blues 'doing everything' to strengthen team, confirms Carlo Cudicini

Standard Sport14 August 2016

Chelsea coach Carlo Cudicini has confirmed the club are 'doing everything' to strengthen ahead of transfer deadline day.

Cudicini was appointed assistant to first team head coach Antonio Conte earlier this summer and is also a club ambassador.

The Blues have already signed N'Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi for fees north of £30million this summer and are attempting to negotiate deals for Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly before the window shuts later this month.

Conte last week encouraged patience as Chelsea continue to deal in the market.

And Cudicini has moved to assure fans that the club are working tirelessly to reshape the squad with less than three weeks left to land targets.

When contacted on Twitter by a fidgety supporter, the former Chelsea goalkeeper responded: "I appreciate your desire to help, but rest assured, the Club is doing everything they can to build a competitive team."

Chelsea open their Premier League campaign against West Ham on Monday evening.
