Frank de Boer is expected to make Ruben Loftus-Cheek his first signing as Crystal Palace boss.

The Chelsea midfielder is due to complete a season-long loan move to Selhurst Park this week.

Loftus-Cheek has never had a loan move but asked to leave on a temporary deal after growing concerned over his lack of game time under Antonio Conte.

The England Under-21 international made just four starts for Chelsea last term and played only 31 minutes of Premier League football.

Loftus-Cheek's impending exit comes as fellow Blues midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah closes in on a £5million move to Watford, with Conte preparing to seal a £34m deal for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Loftus-Cheek will become the first signing of what is expected to be a busy summer for Palace following De Boer’s arrival in south London last month.

Palace's pre-seasons plans see them fly to Hong Kong on Sunday for the Premier League Trophy.
