Nemanja Matic made his second full debut in a Chelsea side showing five changes for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Stoke at Stamford Bridge

Manager Jose Mourinho was hoping to celebrate his 51st birthday with a win, and selected Mark Schwarzer, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Andre Schurrle and Matic - the re-signing from Benfica who came on as a substitute in last weekend's 3-1 defeat of Manchester United. They replaced Petr Cech, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry, Willian and Ramires.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes, who won the FA Cup as a Chelsea player, made five changes following the loss to Crystal Palace, with goalkeeper Asmir Begovic returning following a six-match absence as a result of a broken finger.

Chelsea: Schwarzer, Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole, Lampard, Matic, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Eto'o. Subs: Cech, Ramires, Mikel, Ba, Willian, Terry, Azpilicueta.

Stoke: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Pieters, Wilson, Palacios, Nzonzi, Walters, Ireland, Arnautovic, Crouch. Subs: Muniesa, Whelan, Adam, Guidetti, Assaidi, Sorensen, Shotton.
