Antonio Conte has addressed comments made by Carlos Tevez in which the striker claimed Chelsea want to sign him, saying that while he "appreciated" the Argentine greatly at Juventus he knows he is happy in his homeland.

But the striker, who has previously played for West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City, said he rejected the chance to sign for Chelsea to continue playing at Boca - a decision Conte respects.

"Carlos was my player when I was coach at Juventus and I lived with him a fantastic season and I appreciated a lot Carlos as a player and also as a man," Conte said.

"But now I know he is a player of Boca and he did a lot to go back to Argentina last season and I wish the best for him and his family."

Despite being unable to tempt Tevez to Chelsea, Conte remains keen to bolster his front line ahead of the new season, and has already signed forward Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.
