Croatia pair linked with Spurs moves

Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of completing a £15million deal for highly-rated Dynamo Zagreb pair Tin Jedvaj and Alen Halilovic.

Dinamo president Mirko Barisic has claimed a deal for the two 17-year-olds is ‘all agreed’.

The Croatians have caused a stir among Europe’s elite clubs. Jedvaj was subject to a failed £5million bid from Roma last week and it now appears Spurs have won the race, following interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal.

Reports suggest a deal has been agreed that would see the duo return to the Croatian champions on loan, completing their respective moves when they turn 18.

Halilovic (above) became the second-youngest player to notch a Champions League appearance last term and has been likened to Luka Modric who swapped Dinamo Zagreb for White Hart Lane in 2008, before moving to Real Madrid last summer.

But Dinamo’s sporting director Zoran Mamic believes Halilovic will surpass the success of the former Spurs midfielder.

"A lot of people have compared him to Luka Modric, but he’s better than Luka was at this age.

"Everyone at the club thinks he has even more potential and that he will become one of the best players in the world."
