Jeffrey Schlupp believes Crystal Palace have found the perfect position for Wilfried Zaha by playing him as a striker.

Zaha has been deployed up front at times this season, with Eagles boss Roy Hodgson switching to a 4-4-2 formation.

It certainly seems to have benefited Zaha, who heads to Wolves tonight having scored five goals in his last six Premier League games.

That is as many as the Ivory Coast international managed in his previous 41 matches combined and Schlupp believes Zaha is relishing the freedom of his new role.

"Wilf is obviously a great player," said Schlupp. "We seem to have found the perfect position for him. He still drifts out left, but he is mainly playing up front. I think that you can see in his performances that freedom he is getting is really contributing to the team.

"With the way we play I think it suits him very well and it suits us very well."

Palace have also received a number of injury boosts.

James McCarthy returned to training this week, while Gary Cahill and James Tomkins are fully fit and Jordan Ayew and Jack Butland are both available for tonight's match following positive Covid-19.
