Dele Alli was involved in a controversial moment during Tottenham's Premier League clash against West Brom on Monday night after the PFA Young Player of the Year appeared to punch Claudio Yacob in the stomach.

The incident happened as Yacob, who had clashed with Alli earlier in the game at White Hart Lane, ran into the box to try and mark Alli.

Television footage showed the 19-year-old turned around and then appeared to make contact with the Baggies midfielder although Yacob did not react to the incident.

Alli was not booked by referee Mike Jones, but the Spurs star could face a ban similar to the one Jamie Vardy received last week if the Football Association look into the incident retrospectively.

Vardy was charged with improper conduct by the FA for his reaction to being sent off for simulation in Leicester's draw at home to West Ham last week. He is currently appealing the decision.

The incident comes just a day after Alli won the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his superb performances for title-chasers Tottenham this season.

The youngster has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 32 league appearances for Spurs this term, which has helped the north London side challenge Leicester for the top-flight crown.
