Didier Drogba's two-match Euro ban

Ban: Didier Drogba
11 April 2012

UEFA today handed Chelsea striker Didier Drogba a two-game ban for the challenge which saw him sent off against Inter Milan earlier this month.

Drogba was shown the red card by referee Wolfgang Stark after appearing to stamp on Thiago Motta near the end of Chelsea's Champions League exit.

The striker could have been punished more severely but the two-game suspended ban following his red card against Barcelona last season has been extended until July 2013.

UEFA said: "An appeal may be lodged within three days of the sending of the reasoned decision."
