England ended their tour of the Far East with a 1-0 win against Australia.

Isobel Christiansen scored the only goal in China to give England victory in their final game of the three-team CFA International Tournament.

The result against World Cup quarter-finalists Australia gives England a boost ahead of their meeting with European champions Germany next month.

Mark Sampson’s side were beaten 2-1 by China last week but they deserved their win against Australia.

Manchester City midfielder Christiansen scored the winner early in the second half and the margin of victory could have been greater.

Eniola Aluko hit the bar in the first half while captain Jill Scott was unable to crown her 100th cap with a goal, missing two presentable chances.

England, who reached the World Cup semi-finals last summer, face Germany in a friendly in Duisburg on November 26.

They then play Bosnia in a Euro 2017 qualifier in Bristol on November 29.
