Tottenham begin their season with an away game that is often used as a parameter for a Premier League side's ambition.

And Mauricio Pochettino's side have big plans. A second successive title challenge is now expected at White Hart Lane, which is a burden no Spurs side has had to bear in the modern era.

The north Londoners appear well equipped to cope with the added pressure, but the challenge of juggling England's top tier with a Champions League campaign is unknown territory for the majority of Pochettino's players.

A fast start could be crucial as an average run of results in the early stages of last season proved costly as Tottenham faded during the run in, but Everton love to ruin a party and will be keen to upset the odds today.
