Fulham today posted record profits of £4.8million for the past financial year.

The Premier League club also reported a record revenue of £77.1m for last season, according to figures released for the year ending June 30, 2011.

They recorded a profit of £5.4million, before interest and taxation, and enjoyed a 4.9 per cent increase in attendances.

Chairman Mohamed Fayed said: "The club have made great strides in recent years, and this excellent set of financial results is just reward for our progress.

"As always, I am determined to ensure the club moves in the right direction while remaining true to our history, heritage and past traditions."

Fulham finished last season in eighth position under Mark Hughes but the Welshman dramtically quit at the end of the season and, under new manager Martin Jol, are 11th in the table after 16 games.

They recently announced plans to increase Craven Cottage's capacity from 25,700 to 30,000, redevelop the Riverside Stand and improve the local area.

Fayed added: "The announcement of our plans is further proof that my ambition for this football club remains resolute."
