Mexico winger Pablo Barrera will sign for West Ham later this week if his work permit application is successful.
The 23-year-old has agreed a £4million, two-year deal to join the Hamers from Mexican club Pumas UNAM.
West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan is also keen to make an improved offer for Nice striker Loic Remy.
The France international wants a move to England and told L'Equipe today: "I would like it to be sorted quickly. I've always dreamed of playing in England. When a club like West Ham is on the cards, it's always interesting."
