QPR manager Ian Holloway hailed the spirit of his side after they ended a run of six straight defeats with a 2-1 Sky Bet Championship victory against Wolves at Molineux.

Pawel Wszolek's 87th minute strike sealed the badly needed win after Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards had cancelled out Idrissa Sylla's opener.

Holloway said: "It was probably the worst that we played but the best heart that we showed.

"In the last couple of games we have played some wonderful football and got nothing.

"Well today the boys earned that against the run of play and we have come here and stolen those points but that is what you have to do in football sometimes.

"We had more efforts on goal and Pawel deserved that as he chases and chases and sometimes the harder you work the luckier you get."

The win moved QPR five points clear of the relegation zone and Holloway, who plans a busy transfer window, hopes more victories will follow.

"For me this is only the start," he said. "Six (defeats) in a row, you get all this nonsense spoken and it is unsettling for your group.

"I have to make some changes and people will leave here. It is all about business. It is about getting the right balance and getting people who are hungry and experienced.

"Hopefully I can shift this around so we can show some character like we did against Wolves when every one of them played for each other."
