England assistant boss Steve Holland to fly to Germany to watch Jadon Sancho ahead of Nations League
England assistant manager Steve Holland will travel to Germany this weekend to watch Jadon Sancho ahead of this summer's Uefa Nations League finals.
Sancho made his England debut in the Nations League clash with Croatia last October, and is expected to be part of the squad that travels to Portugal for the inaugural finals next month.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a standout season with Borussia Dortmund, recording more assists than any other player in Europe's top five leagues, and Holland will be present when his side take on Werder Bremen on Saturday evening, looking to keep their Bundesliga title hopes alive.
With skipper Harry Kane struggling for fitness, and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi out of this summer's tournament with an Achilles injury, and it looks increasingly likely that Sancho will play a significant part in England's campaign, which begins with a semi-final clash with the Netherlands on 6 June.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, meanwhile, will run the rule over England number one Jordan Pickford, as well as a host of international hopefuls such as Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, when Everton and Burnley meet at Goodison Park on Friday night.
Southgate will also be at Manchester City vs Leicester on Monday night, where several England regulars, including Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire, are expected to be on show.
