‘It's vital Spurs continue their improved form against the Premier League elite’ - Tom Collomosse previews Tottenham vs Manchester City

Standard Sport's Tom Collomosse previews the weekend clash between Tottenham and Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

As daft as it sounds, Mauricio Pochettino would have hoped to have been under more pressure heading into this match on Sunday.

At the start of the season, this fixture was cited as a potential title decider for Manchester City, and a significant milestone in Tottenham’s quest for a top four finish. Whichever narrative Sunday’s match follows, its author certainly didn’t take note of the pre-season billing.

Spurs are seven points behind fourth placed Manchester United and set to jostle with Liverpool and Southampton for place in next season’s Europa League.

For Pellegrini, however, the Chilean is facing an entirely different type of pressure.

Less than twelve months after guiding City to their second Premier League title, the future of the former Real Madrid and Villarreal man has fallen under heavy scrutiny.

Linked with moves for Pep Guardiola, Rafa Benitez and Jurgen Klopp, Pellegrini’s position seems anything but secure with City sitting ten points behind leaders Chelsea.

But who will come out top at White Hart Lane on Sunday? Watch the video above to hear Tom Collomosse's views on Sunday's match.
