Manchester City’s Joe Hart will undergo his medical on Monday ahead of a loan move to West Ham.

Standard Sport understands that the terms of the loan agreement between the two clubs are all but complete with Hart due in London on Monday as the deal nears completion.

Hart has been effectively frozen out at the Etihad since the arrival of Pep Guardiola at the start of last season and spent the 2016/17 campaign on loan at Torino.

However the England international, who has 71 caps for his country, had expressed a preference to stay in the Premier League as he looks to hold on to the No.1 jersey for the Three Lions in a World Cup year.

Despite his recent troubles West Ham will welcome the arrival of such a significant figure to reinforce a defence that conceded 64 goals in the Premier League last season.

And West Ham club captain Mark Noble believes the Hammers are getting an increasingly underrated goalkeeper in Hart, who has won two league titles and has been the four-time recipient of the Premier League’s Golden Glove prize for the most clean sheets.

“I've known Joe for a long time, we played for England U21s together years ago,” Noble told Sky Sports.

“He is obviously a fantastic goalie but at the minute he is not our player. We have got two really good goalies [Adrian and Darren Randolph] here so it would be more competition for them.

“In my opinion, he [Hart] has been a little bit hard done by in recent years. He has been fantastic for England and for his club for the last 10 years and he probably deserves a little bit more respect.”

Hart’s arrival likely means the departure of either Adrian or Randolph, with the former having to settle for a place on the bench in the short term.

Adrian has been linked with Crystal Palace whilst Newcastle are among the clubs reportedly targeting Irish international Randolph.
