West Ham are poised to confirm the loan signing of Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri.

The 22-year-old, who established his reputation at Boca Juniors, has been on loan at Brazilian club Sao Paulo.

Slaven Bilic has made his forward line a priority as the Hammers prepare for life in the Olympic Stadium.

The West Ham boss has seen summer targets Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette slip through his grasp, while the club are still waiting on an answer from Carlos Bacca after striking a £26million deal with AC Milan.

The arrival of Calleri will ease the burden on Bilic, but West Ham remain in the market for a world class striker.

The club's co-chairman David Sullivan confirmed in May they were willing to part with £30million to secure a 20-goal-a-season forward and, should Bacca decline a move to east London, the search will continue.

Meanwhile, West Ham have been forced into the market to secure a replacement for Aaron Cresswell, who has been ruled out for up to four months with knee ligament injury.
