Jordan Henderson says it would be “amazing” if Liverpool were able to sign Jude Bellingham this summer.

The England international is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund and has been linked with all of Europe’s leading clubs.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have endured a difficult campaign after so nearly winning an unprecedented quadruple last season and face a fight to even make it back into the top four.

Liverpool’s midfield has been cited as the major problem this season with the loan signing of Arthur Melo failing to work out.

Klopp has admitted to having an interest in Bellingham and the 19-year-old was even spotted signing a Liverpool shirt while away on international duty with the Three Lions.

The teenager enjoyed another fine break with England and was again a standout player during the wins over Italy and Ukraine.

While the Reds skipper would not be drawn on the speculation, when asked of the idea of Bellingham joining him at Anfield, Henderson said: “Listen, I just want him to be the best player he can be.

"Of course, if it ended up being Liverpool that would be amazing. But it’s got to be right for him and it’s going to be every club you can think of that will want him.

"He has to think about himself and make sure he makes the right decision for his career. But there’s going to be one lucky club that will end up getting him, whether that is now or in a year or two, it will be a lucky club."
