Lee Cook runs out of gas as Rangers are held

Goal: Lee Cook

There is no more popular scorer at Loftus Road this season than Queens Park Rangers fanatic Lee Cook, whose strike earned his side a point in the 1-1 draw with Derby.

Beset by injuries over the past three years, the 27-year-old Cook made it look just like the old days as he seized on Adel Taarabt's pass to fire in his first goal since December 2008.

But the home side were denied all three points when Shaun Barker equalised after 66 minutes.

Boss Neil Warnock, who was irritated Antonio German wasn't given a late penalty, said: "Lee was shattered when he came off after an hour but he'd given me as long as he could.

"We've got to be careful with his injuries but he and Rowan Vine both deserved an opportunity to get a few games. Lee's a bit sore but he's been desperate to get on."

Rangers are seven points clear of the drop and Warnock added: "Once we get safe, we'll go with the permanent players rather than the loanees."
