Leicester moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table tonight courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Rafael Benitez's Newcastle.

The Foxes were not at their best but Shinji Okazaki's superb overhead kick was enough to send the King Power Stadium faithful home happy as well as put the pressure firmly back on both Tottenham and Arsenal.

Claudio Ranieri's side, who were widely tipped for relegation at the start of the season, are now eight games away from lifting the title in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Spurs may have recovered from their 'mini-blip', which saw the north Londoners take just one point from two games, with victory over Aston Villa, but they face a daunting fixture list during the run-in.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have to face the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Stoke City, Chelsea and Southampton as they attempt to secure a first title since 1961.

Leicester, meanwhile, travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace next and just two of their remaining games are against top-six opposition.

The Gunners' hopes of a first title since 2004 appear to be all but over.

Arsene Wenger's side have won just two of their last nine top-flight games and are now eight points adrift of the unlikely leaders and six behind their fierce rivals.

Jamie Vardy and co are going to take some stopping.
