Forget the scoreline for a moment... Anfield is made for Champions League football.

Ok, you can remember it again.

Real Madrid exuded all the class you would expect from a reigning champion, with the Galacticos showing no signs of slowing down after clinching 'la decima' last season. Carlo Ancelotti's men want an eleventh European title.

For Liverpool is was sorry night. The game was over within the opening 45 minutes, as the Spanish giants stamped their authority on the match.

But the scoreline only tells part of the story, so what did we learn from Anfield?
