Liverpool deserve the ‘great football’ of Jurgen Klopp or Carlo Ancelotti – Robbie Fowler

Richard Parry6 October 2015

Robbie Fowler has backed the credentials of the two leading candidates to succeed Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool manager.

Jurgen Klopp is the frontrunner for the role, and Standard Sport understands that the German will be offered a three-year-deal to secure his return to football.

Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, without a club since leaving Real Madrid in the summer, has also been mooted as a potential candidate.

Fowler would welcome either manager at club, and admitted that Rodgers himself had ‘not done a lot wrong’ during him time Anfield, before admitting that he’d jump at the chance to return to the club under the new management.

"Well look, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested [in returning] if a new manager comes in, I'd love to be on the backroom staff,” said Fowler.
