Jurgen Klopp lauds Liverpool’s ownership after sealing Luis Diaz signing

Jurgen Klopp moved to praise Liverpool’s FSG ownership following the signing of Luis Diaz.

Despite interest from Tottenham, Liverpool officially confirmed the arrival of the Colombian forward on Sunday in a deal worth around £50m including add-ons and bonuses.

With Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino struggling to hit their previous heights, Diaz’s arrival certainly freshens things up in attack alongside Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.

This season, the 25-year-old has scored 16 goals in 28 club appearances and has signed a contract at Anfield running until 2027.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Klopp waxed lyrical about the club’s ownership and the football operations team in general.

“I also must make clear my appreciation to our ownership and football operations team for how they have managed to act so decisively to get this done,” he said.

“Luis is a player we believe will make us better now and in the future. He is the player we really wanted and they’ve made it happen, so I am very happy.”
