The Brazilian forward missed Monday's open training session at Melwood as a result of a virus, but will be given every chance to prove his fitness for the German champions' visit to Merseyside.
The Reds' first-team squad typically take part in a light session on the day of their Champions League fixtures, and Firmino will need to take part if he is to take his place in the squad.
Dejan Lovren could also stake a claim for involvement should he pass a late fitness test on the hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since the FA Cup defeat to Wolves in early January.

Klopp said of the Croatian on Monday: “Dejan, I actually have to wait minute by minute if there is a chance or not.
“But that’s pretty much all, I would say.”
With Joe Gomez still absent following leg surgery, Virgil van Dijk suspended, and Lovren’s involvement unclear, Fabinho is expected to once again fill in at centre-back.
But the defence should be boosted by the return of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is fit again after overcoming a recent knee issue.
Xherdan Shaqiri also looks set to be available having returned to training following the abdominal issue that kept him out of the recent win over Bournemouth.
Long-term absentees Rhian Brewster and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the only other players confirmed as missing.
