Man Utd XI vs Watford: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League today

As far as returns to Premier League duty go, Manchester United could have a much tougher task than a trip to Watford on Saturday afternoon.

While United have struggled to convince despite an aggressive summer recruitment drive and, frankly, aren’t in the kind of form to suggest a win at Vicarage Road is a given, Watford have one of the leakiest defences in the Premier League and have won just once since October.

Given the manner of United’s loss to Manchester City just before the international break, playing a side who struggle to keep goals out could well be a blessing.

Clearly, beating Watford (with all due respect) would do little to prove Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the right man to restore former glories at the club but, amid so much pressure, a win would ease things somewhat.

Marcus Rashford’s exclusion from the England team could have come at a good time too with the forward back in full training after illness, while Luke Shaw is now fully recovered from the concussion that ruled him out of international duty.

Edison Cavani, however, is doubtful.

Man Utd predicted XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Rashford, Ronaldo, Greenwood
