Jack Rodwell was handed only his fourth start of the season as Manchester City hosted Championship side Watford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Rodwell, fit again after the latest in a long line of hamstring problems, came in alongside Yaya Toure in midfield while Edin Dzeko partnered Sergio Aguero up front.

Watford made five changes including in goal, where Jonathan Bond replaced Manuel Almunia. Gabriele Angella started after having last week's red card overturned due to a case of mistaken identity - but Fitz Hall was suspended instead.

Man City: Pantilimon, Richards, Demichelis, Lescott, Kolarov, Navas, Rodwell, Toure (C), Lopes, Aguero, Dzeko.

Watford: Bond, Faraoni, Doyley, Angella, Ekstrand, Pudil, Anya, Battocchio, Murray Forestieri, Deeney.
