Sergio Ramos has said he is not worried as rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United continue to swirl.

Accompanied by his agent René the central defender met his lawyer Julio Senn in a central Madrid office yesterday. There is no suggestion that this was necessarily to do with any transfer to Old Trafford.

The Real Madrid veteran told Marca “I never worry” but his statement is unlikely to ease speculation that he will head in the opposite direction to goalkeeper David de Gea. Ramos’ contract is due to expire at the end of 2017 and he is yet to publically commit to extending his ten-year spell at the Bernabeau.

The World Cup winner has received heavy criticism in the Spanish press this week, with the front page of La Racon calling on the defender to ‘Respect The Badge’.

It is believed that Madrid would consider a fee worth £46.5 million, with Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi identified as Florentino Perez’s preferred replacement.
