Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has returned to training after missing Saturday's win over West Ham at the Emirates through illness.

The German played no part in the first win of the Unai Emery era, a 3-1 triumph, thanks to strikes from Nacho Monreal, Danny Welbeck and an Issa Diop own goal.

Ozil had started Arsenal's first two Premier League games off the season, but was substituted in the second of those, the 3-2 loss against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

His absence against West Ham led to rumours of a training ground bust up with Unai Emery, which the Spanish manager quickly denied.

The 29-year-old has had a turbulent summer, retiring from the German national team after their group stage exit from the World Cup.

However, he was pictured training at London Colney this afternoon and could be back in contention for the trip to Cardiff on Sunday.
