Michael Carrick has warned Arsenal there is "plenty more to come" from Manchester United ahead of Saturday's clash between the two sides.

Arsene Wenger's side have started the campaign in fine form and have not tasted defeat since the opening day of the season.

A 10-game unbeaten run has helped Arsenal climb to fourth place in the table - just two points behind leaders Liverpool.

United, meanwhile, have only won one of their last five top-flight games and are languishing eight points off the title pace.

Carrick is wary of Arsenal's threat but is confident United have enough talent in their ranks to trouble the Gunners, despite struggling to hit top form in recent weeks.

"We're going to have to be at our best to win the game. Arsenal have got some really good players," he told Sky Sports.

"When it clicks for them they are a very dangerous team and they've shown in their start to the season how dangerous they can be.

"But I think we can be quite dangerous as well and we probably haven't quite clicked into top gear which, in some ways is a good thing, because we know there's plenty to come.

"And if we can just hang in there and not be too far away we feel when we do hit top form we'll have a right say in it," Carrick added.

Jose Mourinho's battle with Wenger on the sidelines will be followed closely this weekend with the Frenchman still waiting to secure a maiden League victory over his rival.

The pair almost overstepped the mark during a physical confrontation at Stamford Bridge last season but Carrick is adamant there will be plenty of respect on show at Old Trafford.

"There's always respect against the top teams. Whatever the relationship is between players, managers, clubs - there's always that underlying respect," added the midfielder.
