Millwall could give new signing Jos Hooiveld his debut against Reading tonight.

The defender has joined on loan from Southampton and is in contention to go straight into a side that has conceded seven goals in their last two games.

Hooiveld, 31, has spent time on loan in the Championship with Norwich this season and says he is ready for a relegation scrap. Millwall are in the bottom three following five straight league defeats and Hooiveld said: “Every game from now on is massive. It is not just one game that decides it, there are 20.

“I had a very nice and positive conversation with the manager. We had a good connection. I want as many wins and as many clean sheets as we can.”

Millwall defender Mark Beevers and midfielder Shaun Williams will both return from suspension tonight.

Reading have turned their form around since appointing former West Brom boss Steve Clarke last month and will be buoyed by their FA Cup win at Cardiff on Saturday.

Chris Gunter, Danny Guthrie and Jamie Mackie are all injury doubts for tonight’s match at The Den.
